He was predeceased by : his parents, Junious L. Watkins and Nellie Ann Hampton Watkins; and his sisters, Joanne Peatross, Jennie Bell Broadnax, Georgianna Broadnax and Gloria Dean Broadnax.

He is survived by : his sisters, Laurie Watkins, Wanda Watkins, Mary Tarpley and Rosa Lee Gatewood (Frankie).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Service Chapel (1425 Greensboro Rd, Martinsville, VA 24112). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
