She was predeceased by : her parents, Louis James and Bertha Sears James; her husband Harry Martin Thorbjornsen; her daughter Mary Thorbjornsen Jennings; and her brother Samuel James.

She is survived by : her daughter Joy Nance (Keith); her grandson Jordan Nance of Reidsville; her sister-in-law Judy James; and her nephew Mark James (Robin) of Culpeper. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.

A committal service was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at 8100 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505.
