He was predeceased by : his parents, Sidney Armentrout and Frances Funkhouser Armentrout; and his siblings, Hunter Armentrout, Helen Dean and Doris Beverly.

He is survived by : his spouse Abby Armentrout (Kershner); his mother-in-law Joan Kershner; his children, Michael Scott Armentrout of Grottoes, Matt Ray Armentrout (Teresa) of Grottoes, Erika Layne Hisey (Brook) of Elkton and Heather Lynn Poffenberger (D. J.) of Middletown, Maryland; his sister Sheri Williams (Sid) of Weyers Cave; his grandchildren, Jade, Brennan, Talyn Armentrout, Haley Lucas, Cheyenne, Autumn Hisey, Tristan Poffenberger (Julia) and Audrey Poffenberger; and his great grandchild Harley Nalborczyk. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
