The memory of Carol Christiana Thornton of Meadows of Dan, Virginia, who passed away on June 24, 2025 at the age of 88, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Christiana and Audrey Hagan Christiana; her former husbands, George Lumpkin, Sr. and Wesley Burton Sehen; and her brother Bobby Christiana.
She is survived by: her husband Dick Thornton; her children, George Lumpkin, Jr., Mick Lumpkin, Carol Thornton, Audrey Aldana and Tommy Lumpkin; and her siblings, Michael Christiana, Jerry Christiana, David Christiana, Byron Christiana and Margie Bandas. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Dan Baptist Church (77 Baptist Church Ln, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at the Sehen-Knowles-Eden Cemetery.
