He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine S. Spain; his grandson Michael P. Bowie; his parents, Lillian R. Spain, and Leslie R. Spain, Sr.; and his siblings, Leslie Spain, Jr., Lindsey Spain, Woodrow Spain, Stuart Spain, Virginia Yancy and Wilton Spain.
He is survived by: his close friend Hazel Spain; his children, Clark E. Spain, Jr. (Barbara), Raylene K. Wells (Ricky) and Douglas R. Spain, Sr. (Bonnie); his granddaughter Christina Miranda (Eric); his great grandchildren, Michael and Selena Miranda; and his siblings, Elva Wells (Clarence), Milton Spain (Dot), Ronnie Spain (Barbara) and Frankie Spain, Sr. (Treana).
