She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Burton and Marjorie Burton; her sister Janis B. Newcomb; and her daughter Kimberly Rice Smith. She is survived by: her significant other Woodrow T. "Woody" Rice, Jr.; her sons, Woodrow T. "Tommy" Rice, III (Sue), Brian Rice (Millie) and Greg Rice (Yvonne); her son-in-law Eddie Smith; her grandchildren, Jay Smith (Kristen), Chris Smith (Stephanie), Mandy Williams (Alexander), Ashley Browning (Colby), Jack Rice, Allissa Rice, Andrew Rice, William "Tip" Rice and Berkley "Tula" Rice; and her great grandchildren, Mason, Georgia, June Smith and Eleanor Williams. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home (8014 Lee Davis Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23111). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 276, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
