He was predeceased by : his parents, James Lee Powell, Sr. and Jean Harris Powell; and his brother Trent Powell. He is survived by : his sons, George Keith "Gee" Powell of Lynchburg, VA and Ryan Keith Powell (Elizabeth) of Onancock, VA; his siblings, Pat Nottingham (John Lee) of Keller, VA, James Lee Powell, Jr. (Ginny) of Painter and Brent Powell (Kendra) of Melfa; and his grandchildren, Madison Grace Powell of Onancock, Ella Mae Powell of Onancock and Harbor Finn Powell of Lynchburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
