It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertice Elbert Walker Jr. (Newport News, Virginia), born in Farmville, Virginia, who passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertice "Bert" E. Walker, Sr. and Flora N. Walker. He is survived by: his close friend Maria L. Yeatts; his sister Mary Ann Shindle; his daughters, Teresa "Tere" W. Childers, Patricia "Patty" A. Dunton and Lindy "Linda" B. Walker; his son-in-law Fletcher I. Dunton; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth F. Dunton, Sara N. Goldman, Matthew I. Dunton, Sophia J. Goldman and Emily J. Goldman.
