He was predeceased by: his parents, David Luster and Gladys Luster; his daughter Karmyn; his grandson Tre; and his brother David.

He is survived by: his wife Carol W. Luster; his sons, Clayton R. Luster, Jr. (Judy) and Raymond Hotson (Carolina); and his brothers, Shurley and Curtis. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of many loving nieces, nephews, family members, caring neighbors and friends.
