It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Curtis Irby in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Coleman Alexander Irby and Lucy Wade Yeatts Irby. He is survived by: his wife Loretta; his children, Jennifer Hutton (Dennis) of Cayce, SC, Denise Barton of Elkton, MD and Kevin Irby (Foy) of Raleigh, NC.; his grandchildren, Kristen Butcher (George) of New York City, Abbi Sullivan (Cory) of Rochester, NY, Derek Hutton (Anna) of Cayce, SC, Philip Hutton (Tylar) of Greenville, SC, Makynzie Barton of Newark, DE and Haley Beiler (Weston) of Nottingham, PA.; his great grandchildren, Leeland, Knox Sullivan, Maggie and Molly Hutton; and his siblings, Pete Irby of Hurt, Dale Shelton and Drucella Purdue. He is also survived by nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM and at 2:00 PM at the Maranatha Baptist Church (221 Hampton Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23693).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Maranatha Baptist Church, Yorktown, mission fund.

“Brother Irby was such a kind, big-hearted, humble man, who truly loved God, his family, friends, & people. He was so faithful and had a passion for sharing the Gospel message of how to be born again and to know Jesus Christ as Savior. He gave out countless numbers of Gospel tracts to just about anyone he would meet. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of help. Brother Irby had a servant's heart and he encouraged, challenged, & impacted so many for Christ. He is loved & missed!”
