He was predeceased by: his close friend Linda Newell; his parents, Joe Kaufman and Vivian Kaufman; and his siblings, Judy Kaufman, Joanne Kaufman, Ralph Kaufman and Mike Kaufman.

He is survived by: his sons, Joe Kaufman, Dennis Kaufman and Paul Kaufman; his siblings, Ginna Heegeman, Ann Hansen, Debbie Wilson, Mary Ready, Greg Kaufman and Danny Kaufman; and his friends, Tim Hurley (Romanda), Jack Lavoie, Ralf and Trina Baughman. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
