With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Kay Hickman (Newport News, Virginia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Kay leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Kay may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow McKinney Brooks Sr. and Mildred Christie Brooks; her sister Donna Brooks Cockrum; and her brother-in-law Williams Cox. She is survived by: her husband Dennis Brown; her brother Woodrow McKinney Brooks Jr. (Marie); and her siblings-in-law, Clara Cox, Joe Brown (Renee) and Morris Brown (Phyliss). She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Newport News, VA, or the American Heart Association.
