Myrtle Wilson Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Myrtle Wilson in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on October 31, 2025 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Myrtle Wilson to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gatling and Nannie Gatling; her former husband Robert Mason; her siblings, Joseph Gatling, Jr., Stan Gatling, Robert Gatling, Thomas Gatling (Dicky), Shirley Gatling, Gloria Godfrey, Jeanette Hall and Betty Parker; and her grandson Jason Burris.

She is survived by: her husband Randy Wilson; her children, Pamela Burris and Keith Mason; her children-in-law, Carl Burris and Nicole Mason; her grandchildren, Ian, Abbey Mason and Sarah Howard (James); her great grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew and Noel Howard; and her brother William Gatling (Carolyn). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the W. J. Smith and Son Funeral Home (210 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA 23601). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
