She was predeceased by: her parents, George Kitchen and Ella Dunlow Kitchen; her husband Bernard Owen Darden; and her siblings, Louise Mears and Johnny Lee Kitchen, Sr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Lynn "Jenny" Darden (Robert) and Dorothy Rose Lee (Jason); her sisters, Gracie Kitchen Vargo and Ella Kitchen Grizzard; her grandson Jason Owen Lee; and her friends, Mia and Ava.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home (206 W 4th Ave, Franklin, VA 23851). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Jordan's Crossing.
