It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jewell Evelyn Mathieson (Norton, Virginia), who passed away on November 21, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Claude Blackburn and Mary Boggs Blackburn; her husband Gaither Glenn Mathieson; her siblings, James Blackburn, Rose Elizabeth Blackburn and Edgar Blackburn; and her daughter Patricia Sturgill.

She is survived by : her daughter Jonnie Owens (Earl) of New Britain; her grandchildren, Justin Owens of Portland, Joshua Owens (Robb Hall) of Clearwater, Florida, Misty Owens of Norton, Virginia and Jasmine Sturgill; her great grandchildren, Michael, Brianna Motz, Landon Sturgill and Casey Partridge; and her close friends, Robyn Bage and Sharon Bowen.
