It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Estill Thompson of Palmyra, Virginia, who passed away on February 24, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, William Archie Thompson and Alice Edmonia McGowan Thompson; his wife Marion Elizabeth Martin Thompson; and his siblings, Lorraine Thompson, William Archie Thompson, Jr. and Lou Ellen Thompson.
He is survived by : his sons, Russell Martin Thompson of Studio City, California, Timothy McGowan Thompson of Valencia, California and Daniel Archie Thompson of Fork Union, Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
The burial service will be private, in accordance with John's wishes during this current pandemic.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South Plains Presbyterian Church at PO Box 277, Keswick, VA 22947.
