She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Chapman and Edith Carter Cumbee; her husband Berman Hughes; her daughter Lisa Hughes; and her siblings, Robert Cumbee, Ronnie Cumbee, Lee Cumbee, Bucky Cumbee, Winfred Cumbee, Freda Sanders, Elizabeth Harless and Mary Kessinger.

She is survived by : her son Arnie Hughes of Pembroke; her grandchildren, Natasha Martin, Desirai Lynn Hughes, Aubbie Grace Hughes and Tanner Riddle; her great grandchild Raelyn Reed; and her siblings, Poncho Cumbee (Debbie) of Blacksburg and Anna Sue Cumbee of Rich Creek, VA..
