He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Rayfield and Sadie Harrison Rayfield of Washington; and his siblings, Charles Jr., Calvin and Paulette Rayfield.

He is survived by : his grandson Jamon; his brother Donnie McClurkin; his daughter Cymondria Zemoria Smith of Petersburg; his granddaughter Ciyani Monet Smith of Petersburg; his sister Gussie Rayfield of Ocean City, Maryland; his cousins, Robert "Bobby", Bernice Harrison of Charlotte, Valerie Harrison Long and Gregory Harrison of Petersburg; his close friends, Donald Mitchell, Jerome Bassfield, Ralph Bolling, Walt Parham, Charles Lewis, David Morgan, Jimmy L. West, Jr., Tina Urqhart, Shirley Critton and Ernest Barnes; and also, Bernard Lundy, Jr. and Pamela Lundy. He is also survived by numerous cousins and relatives.

Will Lewis wrote a sympathy message

“I pray that the Lord's blessings be with the family and He continues to provide comfort at this difficult time. Chauncey loved to talk and show you what he was working on. He built the security system for my house and that project gave us a lot of time together. He talked about his time with IBM; starting his security business, and his love for his family. He would call me to let me know he was on the way and would be driving Spot (his name for his van). Sincerely, Will Lewis, Jr.”
