With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thurman Ray Compton (Pilgrims Knob, Virginia), who passed away on November 22, 2019 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Compton and Vicie Church Compton; his brothers, Johnny and Clyde Compton; and his parents-in-law, Carl Keene and Geneva Keene.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Keene Compton; his children, David Scott Compton (Whitney) of Kingsport, TN and Melena Compton Mitchell (Andy) of Youngstown, OH; his grandchildren, Chasity Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Elizabeth Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell, Jackson Compton and Delaney Compton; and his siblings, Elmer Junior Compton of Swords Creek, VA, Wayne Compton (Paula) of Pilgrims Knob, VA and Ann Lester (Floyd) of Claypool Hill, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
