He was predeceased by: his parents, Henrietta McCauley (Morris) and Howard Kemper McCauley; his son Larry W. McCauley; and his sisters, Betty Dovel and Lola Kyger.
He is survived by: his close friend Mary Mehitka; his children, Susan Ann Smith of Elkton, Roxetta A. Mowbray (James) of Port Republic and Jeffery L. McCauley (Carmen Taylor) of Port Republic; his sister Martha Priest (Jack) of Front Royal; his grandchildren, Shannon Smith (Lindsey), Justin Smith (Allysa), Brandie Breeden (Kenny), Amber McLernon (Jason) and Terri Browning; his daughter-in-law Donna McCauley; his stepgrandchildren, Chris Earman (Vickie) and Chasity Marcus (Thomas); his great grandchildren, Cameron, Jayden, Jaxson, Julian, Jamison and Zachery; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Rachel, Jacob and Tyler.
