She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Earl and Florene Garris; her husband Jackson Copeland, Sr.; her siblings, John Earl Garris, Diane Garris and Edna Elliott; and her aunt Carlteen Valentine.

She is survived by : her children, Miles, Jackson Jr. (Brenda), Robert (Michelle) and Carla Carney (Maurice); her siblings, Louis Garris, Lester Garris (Lillian) and Velma Griffin (Carlton); her grandchildren, LaTasha, Shanice, Jackson 3rd, JaShawn, Jamar, Joy, Josiah, Janea, Ameenah, Romario, Danielle and Nathan; her great grandchildren, Teyana, Antione, Indya, Morgan, Cameron, Kristian, Jackson and Mitazha; and her friends, Althea, Rosetta, Edna and Jessie. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
