It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carlton Emanuel Murphy of Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on February 17, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brothers, Ken Murphy and William C. Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Gray Murphy; his children, Carl Murphy Jr., Lisa Phillips and Michelle Murphy; his stepsons, Gary Lassiter, Jeff Lassiter and Jonathan Lassiter; his sister Patsy McGuley; and his stepbrother Donald Merrett. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
