He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa May and George Edward Benzie; his wife Jean W. Benzie; his son Jack P. "Jackie" Benzie, Jr.; his brothers, Jim Benzie and George Benzie, Jr.; and his cousins, Bobby, Leo and Jo Moorer.

He is survived by: his son Kenneth Benzie (Glenda); his grandsons, Joshua Jack Benzie and Dustin Lee Benzie; and his son Michael Benzie (Kathleen).
