He was predeceased by : his son Thomas Mento. He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his children, Michele Lynn, Teri Williams and Sue Ambrose; his grandchildren, Taylor Kelly, Shane Kelly, Jake Williams, Jordan Williams and Brandan Hupman; his sister Glorianne Salamino; and also, Emery, Brielle and Aubrey. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Loving Funeral Home Churchland Chapel (3225 Academy Ave, Portsmouth, VA 23703). The military honors was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Thérèse (4137 Portsmouth Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23321).
