We are sad to announce that on February 17, 2024, at the age of 78, Kenneth Wayne Hemmings of Portsmouth, Virginia, born in Buchanan, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Estel Norman Hemmings and Ruby Lee Webb Hemmings; and his siblings, Gay Beamon and Danny Hemmings. He is survived by: his wife Lou Ellen Lowe Hemmings; his daughters, Theresa Ann Farley (Greg) of Virginia Beach, Delana Michele Doyle (Charlie) of Smithfield, Patricia Anne Childress (Todd) of Marathon, FL and Texie Leigh Malota (Jeffery) of Portsmouth; his brothers, Fred Hemmings (Susan) of Florida and Eddie Hemmings (Faye) of Portsmouth; and his grandchildren, Kenneth Bess, Cal Bess, Sarah Wilcoxson (Nich), Sadie Malota, Carley Childress, Max Childress and Sam Malota.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 6 to 8PM in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin and suggests that memorial donations be made to The Disabled American Veterans at help.dav.org.
