He was predeceased by : his parents, Earlvon T. Jones and Clarise Herbert. He is survived by : his wife Sandra D. Jones; his children, Justina, Erica (Lawrence), Linwood Jr., Derrick and Katiera; his siblings, Alverta Davis, William Jones and Harrison Jones; his brother-in-law Williams Lashley Jr. Additionally; and his close friends, Ricky and Bonita Otey. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
