It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Brenda Sue Brakefield of Pounding Mill, Virginia, born in Richlands, Virginia, who passed away on March 11, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Dennis Grove and Virginia Gee Johnson Grove; her husband Johnny Reed Brakefield; her sisters, Sandy Pruitt, Velma Conner and Patricia Rickey; and her sister-in-law Joyce Sweet.

She is survived by : her daughter Heather Brakefield of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Zion-Grace (Zoe) and Israel Chance (Izzy); her brother Ronnie Grove (Judy) of Richlands, VA; her siblings-in-law, Debbie, Donald Brakefield and Danny Sweet; her close friend Gracie Hulse (Dennis); her pet Abel; and her kitty Sissy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
