He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Thompson and Beatrice Thompson; and his brother J. B. Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Mary R. Thompson; his children, Jamie Thompson (Kelly) of Petersburg and Christie Reiter (Michael) of Petersburg; his grandchildren, Kristopher Thompson, Kaitlyn Davis (Thomas), Madelyn Reiter (Corey), Amber Thompson (Steven), Makayla Reiter and Raven Hill; and his siblings, Shirley Tackett, Joyce Taylor, William R. (Thompson), Tony Thompson (Rose) and Wanda Lowell (Roy).
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory (1504 N Mecklenburg Ave, South Hill, VA 23970). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
