He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Sutherland; his parents, Harry H. Sutherland and Callie Frances Nichols Sutherland; and his siblings, Boyd, Roy, Frank Sutherland, Blanche Sutherland, Mary Bell Sutherland and Helen Hines.
He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Matt Newbill of Roanoke; his granddaughters, Bethany and Callie Newbill; and his sister-in-law Audrey Jennelle of Radford. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
