He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Ryman and Vally Ryman; and his siblings, Vertie Shoaff and Otis Ryman. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Bray Ryman; his son R. L. Ryman, Jr.; his sister Ethel Mills; his grandson Ryan Ryman (Christyn); and his great grandchildren, Savannah, Sierra and Kelsie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Remlik Wesleyan Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 952, Urbanna, VA 23175.
