It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Plaster Short of Richlands, Virginia, born in Swords Creek, Virginia, who passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Plaster and Martha Horton Plaster; her husband Emory Bradley Short; her daughter Linda Faye Plaster; and her siblings, Billy Plaster, Edward Plaster, Gertrude Woodrum, Edith Whited, Frances Winfrey, Ruth Mallory, Ruby Rasnake, Clinton Plaster, Russ Plaster, Dave Plaster and Judy Patton.

She is survived by : her daughter Tammie Smith (Shannon) of Richlands, VA; her granddaughters, Mechelle Plaster of Richlands, Britney Smith Ham (Nathan) of West Jefferson, NC, Savanna Smith Childress (Wendell) of Richlands, VA and Miranda Smith Selfe (Elijah) of Richlands, VA; her great grandchildren, Bradley Childress, Elias Selfe and Tondolaya Childress; her sister Jean White (Tolbert) of Abingdon, VA; her siblings-in-law, Peggy Plaster of Raven, VA and Jimmy Patton of Cedar Bluff, VA; her siblings, Shirley Davis and Honorary; and her daughter Yuri Yoshida. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Commonwealth of Virginia mandate facial coverings and social distancing are required at all times.
