He is survived by: his sons, Freddie A. Bassett Jr. (Sharon) and John L. Bassett (Sharon); his grandchildren, Anthony Miles, Ashley White and DeJohn Bassett; his siblings, Agnes Mays and John Bassett; and his close friend Shirley Barnes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home (2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220). Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:45 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
