She was predeceased by: her husband Charles E. Pittman Jr.; and her sister Constance Newton. She is survived by: her son Charles E. Pittman III; her significant other Sara Woodyard; her grandchildren, Marie (Agee), Elise and Jessica; and her great grandchildren, Andrew and Felicity.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Red Cross.
