He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond E. and Louise Dietrich; his brother Douglas E. Dietrich; his wife Dianna Dietrich; his sons, Keith Dietrich (Stephany) and Brian Dietrich (Patti); his grandchildren, Tate Dietrich (Ashley) and Brett Dietrich (Stephanie); and also, Jean Stancell and Wayne Duffy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church, 344 Church Ave. Roanoke, Virginia 24016 in Mr. Dietrich's memory.
