He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ruble Brooks and Lora Simmons Brooks; and his sister Loma Brooks Huffine. He is survived by: his children, William Dennis Brooks (Cyndy) of Savannah, TN, Tracy Allen Brooks (Dawn) of Gastonia, NC and Debra Brooks Hite (Eddie) of Salem, VA; and his siblings, James Clyde Brooks of Radford, VA and Esther Brooks Drummond of Bradenton, FL.. He is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
