He is survived by: his wife Marjorie C. Chaney; his children, Herman E. Chaney Jr. and Theresa Chappelear (Rick); and his siblings, Edmond Chaney (Ann), Doris Simmons, Sarah Hill and Lettie Perez. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
