He is survived by: his wife Ann McClain; his son Carr McClain (Pamela); his grandchildren, Carter, Stephen, Catherine, Sarah, Erin and William McClain; his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Nelson (Chas), Susan Tyler (Will) and Ann Ball Pettey (George); his stepgrandchildren, Lucas, Julia Nelson, Becca, Ann Katherine, William Tyler, Eloise and Bessie Pettey; and his sisters, Fay Lisle (Frank) and Sue Anderson (Charlie).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Garst Mill Presbyterian Church 3739 Willetta Drive Roanoke, VA 24018.
