Lou Cook Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lou Cook (Roanoke, Virginia), born in Waynesboro, Virginia, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John William Cook; her sons, Steven John Cook and David Louis Cook; her parents, Peter Paul and Maude Padgett Wetzel; her siblings, Jean Wetzel Falls, William Paul Wetzel and Betty Wetzel Anderson; and her close friends, Jess, Ann Hayes, Kathleen Cassell, Hazel Lambert and Pat Saunders.
She is survived by: her daughters, Beverly Boyer (Bill) of Williamsburg, VA, Vicki Posner (Walt) of Seminole, FL and B. J. Branan (late Dennis) of Esmont, VA; her grandsons, Greg Boyer, Jeff Boyer (LeAnne), Adam Cook (Elizabeth), Jason Branan (Maddie) and Mark Hawkins (Adrianna); her great grandchildren, Alex Cook, Hunter Fielder, Ava Boyer, Reid Boyer and Emily Cook; and her son Haven Louis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bonsack Baptist Church (4845 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Ministry of Bonsack Baptist Church, 4845 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.
