He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jo Reid Smith of Roanoke. He is survived by: his sister Betty Ann Anderson (Joe) of Clifton Forge; his children, Ann Paige Gurly (Lynn) of Roanoke, Sarah Lynn Boblett (Howard) of Martinsville, Marvin Chapman Smith III of Madison and David Stuart Smith (Sheri) of Salem; his grandchildren, Chrstopher Stuart Boblett (Adria) of Rocky Mount, Amanda Paige Wright (Casey) of Salem, Lauren Elizabeth Boblett, Wyatt Porter Smith of Salem and Sawyer Reid Smith of Salem; his great grandchildren, Kaylin Boblett, Camden Boblett and Paisley Gurley; his sister-in-law Mary Ann Reid Laughlin (Jim) of Massanutten; his nephew Reid Laughlin (Shelia) of Massanutten; his brother-in-law David Reid (Frankie) of Evington; his niece Grace Verderosa (John) of Evington; and also, Jacob Laughlin of Massanutten and Zachary Laughlin of Massanutten.
