It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Odell Fennell (Roanoke, Virginia), who passed away on August 20, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Freeman Fennell and Warring Franklin Fennell; and his siblings, Warren, John Fennell and Viola Fennell Williams.
He is survived by: his son Matthew O. Fennell, Jr. (Sharon Garrett); his former wife Betty Harris Fennell; his granddaughters, Dr. Monae Fennell of Macon, GA and Lauren Fennell of Salem, VA; his sisters, Elberta F. Joe (Bert) of Waynesboro, PA and Zenobia N. Bailey (Zee) of Roanoke, VA; and his aunt Naomi Freeman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
