He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Arthur Jirout; his sons, Michael E. Jirout (Melissa) of Orlando and David L. Jirout (Eva) of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Matthew A. Jirout of Roanoke, Brian M. Jirout of Columbia, S. C., Allison L., Michelle L. Jirout of Roanoke, John D. Jirout of Roanoke, Mark D. Jirout of Roanoke and Michael A. Jirout; his brother Leonard F. Jirout (Delores) of Deerfield; and also Denise Jirout of Deerfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
