He was predeceased by: his parents, Gloria Summers and William Shorter. He is survived by: his wife Mary Crenshaw Shorter; his children, Delania Lee, Wayne Shorter II (Jennifer) and Danielle Shorter; his sister Luvenia Bryant (Everette); and his sister-in-law Avis Reynolds.
