He was predeceased by : his children, Daniel J. Nolte of Maui, Fawn (Ben Cordero), Valosi Nolte of Maui, Hawaii and Jala Nolte of Australia. He is survived by : his wife JoAnn; his daughter Sharon Brodt (Scott) of Kitty Hawk, NC; his grandson Matthew McMurtrie of Raleigh, NC; his children, Mary Penn Nolte, Tim Nolte of Powell's Point, NC and Alexandra Nolte; the parent of his child Claire Nolte of Southern Shores, NC.; and his sister Sallie Nolte of Richmond, VA..

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Virginia Home Financial Department, 1101 Hampton Street, Richmond, VA 23220.
