She was predeceased by: her parents, Julian S. Shackelford, Jr. and Molly Haden Shackelford; and her husband Henry Thurston Browning, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Daniel Thurston Browning (Bernadette) of Scottsville and Joseph Keith Browning (Elaine) of Scottsville; her grandchildren, Christopher Ian Browning (Linn), Michael Gilchrist Browning (Nikki), Matthew Aaron Browning (Rachel), Kiera Browning, Katherine Leigh Shifflett, Rachel Anne Berry (Matt) and Amber Marie Johnson; and her great grandchildren, Annabelle, Nora Shifflett, Madeleine, Palmer Berry, James, Caleb, Peter, Taylor and Abigail Browning.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Charlottesville or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
