She was predeceased by : her husband John Howard Kennedy, Jr.. She is survived by : her daughter Veatrice "Vickie" Kennedy Blackwell; her granddaughters, Sara N. McLean (Ray) and Shelby L. Emerson (Kaleb); her great grandchildren, Ray McLean, Jr. (Mattie), Dixie L. McLean (Jesse) and RayLynne Fleshman; her great great grandchild Winston; her son Barry L. Kennedy (Rebecca); her grandsons, Sean M. Kennedy (Inamay) and Ryan P. Kennedy (Kaitlyn); and also Charlotte Kennedy.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sappony Baptist Church (13045 Concord Sappony Rd, Stony Creek, VA 23882). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sappony Baptist Church, c/o 9183 Huske Rd, Stony Creek, Virginia 23882.
