He was predeceased by: his wife Geneva Frances Akers Toone; and his siblings, Beatrice Camp, Maude Vargo, Delma Payne, Cora Trammell, Lois Dyer, Robert Toone of Yancey, Sim Toone, Bernard Toone and Edward Toone.
He is survived by: his son-in-law Brenda Toone; his grandson Wesley Adam Bumgardner; his brother-in-law Lacy; Glenda Toone Bumgardner and Mike Bumgardner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
