She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph A. Vernon; and her siblings, Claude Layman, Kirby Layman, Raymond Layman, Hoyte Layman, Edgar Layman, Harry Layman and Elizabeth Hall.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Frances Vernon Smith (Larry) of Ridgeway, VA, Donna Gaye Vernon White (Paul) of Figsboro, VA, Larry Vernon (Margaret) of Stuart, VA and Tim Vernon (Lisa) of Stuart, VA; her grandson Ricky Vernon (Christie); her great grandchildren, Austin of Stuart and Colby Vernon of Stuart; and her pet Buck.
