She was predeceased by: her parents, Max Pate and Elsie Marie Rea Pate; her sons, Eric Stone and Christopher Stone; and her friend Karen Gunter Lawson.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin F. Collins; her daughter Renae S.; her son-in-law Robert Lambert of Rocky Mount; her stepchildren, Chad N. Collins of Stuart and Marcie Collins of Stuart; her grandchildren, Troy Lambert, Zachary Lambert, Jenna Lambert, Cameron Collins and Eli Collins; her aunt Shirley Rea of Stuart; and her cousins, Mike Ray of Bassett and Richard Ray of Salisbury. She is also survived by child, but had lifelong friends.
