She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Dunn Walton and Wade Norman Walton; and her brother W. T. Walton. She is survived by: her husband Ray Hastings; her children, Karen McDowell of Lynchburg, VA., Nancy Whitt (Calvin) of Chapel Hill, NC., Chris Hastings of Raleigh, NC. and Zane Hastings (Myra) of South Boston; her siblings, Dorothy Motley of Vernon Hill, VA., Carolyn Simpson (Averett) of Vernon Hill, VA. and Norman Walton (Frances) of Vernon Hill, VA.; and her grandchildren, Gregory Whitt, Daniel Whitt, David McDowell and Rachel Barker.
