He is survived by: his wife Ellen Shirlene Martin Gibbs; his children, Teresa Gibbs Newman (James Gary Newman) of Patrick Springs and Jason Todd Gibbs (Tanya Adams Gibbs) of Stuart; his grandchildren, James Gabriel Newman of Patrick Springs, Christopher Scott Cobler (Amanda) of Elkin, Courtney René Cobler of Huntington and Britney Lee Reynolds of Mount Airy; and his siblings, Bobby Gene Gibbs (Joyce) of Danville, Kenneth Earl Gibbs (Beth) of Martinsville, Madeline Gibbs Philpott of Martinsville, Judy Boswell Seidle (Ralph) of Firestone and Gale Boswell Burgess.
